You know what sucks?

Besides being ready to go night-night at 8 p.m? (I’m telling ya, this getting old business is for the birds.) Going onto the foreign Harlequin sites and discovering that I apparently don’t exist, even though I’ve had books published in those languages. What’s up with that? I feel so. . .so chopped-liverish.

Woke up this morning to the depressing realization that I had a huuuuge plot hole in the scene I just spent three days re-writing. Yeah, that made me feel real good. It was one of those “But if he’s says this, wouldn’t he have have done that?” The good news is, I fixed it, and much more easily than I thought. The better news is, the fixed part actually strengthened the scene. At least, I think so, and right now mine is the only opinion that counts.

Finished METRO GIRL by Evanovich. If it had been my first Evanovich, I would have totally loved it. Since it’s like my fifteenth, the bloom is definitely off the rose. But I still enjoyed it, chuckled more than a few times, and am passing it on to one of the sons. No, not the 11-year-old. Now reading THE ME I USED TO BE by Jennifer Archer, an October NEXT. I’m having a very good reaction to this one so far — I can’t quite put my finger on it, other than to say there’s a comfortability and realness to the characters that pleases me. As you may have guessed, I’ve given up on THE HISTORIAN for now. I suppose I’ll get back to it. . .one day.

Or not. Life is short.
